Cath Lab Xray Tech
Location: La Mesa, California
Employment Type: Travel - Allied Health
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Imaging Specialist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of radiation and fluoroscopy safety and equipment in the cath lab. This role involves assisting the cardiologist with imaging during procedures, becoming proficient as a scrub tech, and maintaining strict sterile technique. The position also includes performing roles as monitor and circulator within a team-oriented cath lab environment.
The cath lab performs a variety of procedures including diagnostic and interventional coronary procedures, pacemaker/ICD implantations, electrophysiology studies, and peripheral procedures. The facility is recognized for its cardiac care and strives to meet high standards for patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an X-Ray Technician
- X-Ray Technician experience within the last year
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- Current California Fluoroscopy Permit
- IV Certification
- Experience and knowledge overseeing all aspects of radiation and fluoroscopy safety and related equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as an Imaging Specialist in interventional radiology or cardiac cath lab
- ACLS certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience with Phillips X-ray equipment highly preferred
- Experience with Impella device preferred
