Registered Nurse - Nephrology

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Under general supervision, provides nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex. Responsibilities include:

• Managing an assigned group of patients
• Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments
• Assisting physicians with examinations and minor procedures
• Monitoring physiological data and intervening as needed
• Administering medications and managing intravenous infusions and blood products
• Delivering competent patient care
• Communicating care plans with patients and families
• Making referrals for patient care needs
• Delegating tasks to support staff

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma
• Minimum 1 year of nephrology nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Med/Surg nursing experience
• Stepdown nursing experience
• Familiarity with central line care and management
• Familiarity with Foley catheter care and management
• Familiarity with end-of-life care and management
• Knowledge of proper dialysis site care, including avoiding use of HD catheters or accessing fistulas for blood draws
