Job Description

Under general supervision, provide nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex. Responsibilities include:

• Managing an assigned group of patients.
• Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments.
• Assisting physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary.
• Administering prescribed medications.
• Initiating, regulating, and monitoring intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Delivering competent patient care.
• Communicating care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
• Informing patients and families about hospital procedures.
• Referring patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegating tasks to support staff.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Licensure: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).

Skills

• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
• Some computer skills.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or higher) from a Board Approved Program.
