Registered Nurse - Pediatric Dialysis

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately)


Job Summary

Provide nursing care to pediatric dialysis patients, aligning with professional nursing standards and organizational values.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for assigned patients or groups of patients.
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments, noting changes in physician orders.
  • Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe patient conditions and intervene as necessary.
  • Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Deliver competent patient care, seeking coaching and mentoring as needed.
  • Resolve patient complaints timely and in collaboration with support staff.
  • Inform patients and families about hospital procedures and care plans during care and at discharge.
  • Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Foster professional growth through mentorship, coaching, and maintaining licensure/certifications.
  • Develop a professional career plan with personal performance goals aligned with department metrics.
  • Promote an inclusive workforce valuing individual differences.
  • Delegate tasks to clinical support staff as needed.
  • Provide feedback and learning opportunities to others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent pediatric dialysis nursing experience within the last year.
