Job Summary

Provide timely, accurate, and reliable respiratory therapy services to inpatients, outpatients, staff, and affiliated community groups.

Job Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy procedures as directed.
• Perform Aerosol Therapy, CPT/Flutter/PEP Mask therapy, Incentive Spirometry, M.D.I. therapy, Suctioning, and Extubation procedures.
• Manage Oxygen Therapy, Oxygen Tank Safety, BiPAP-CPAP therapy and alarms.
• Perform Cough Assist/Vest therapy, High Flow Cannula/Humidifier therapy and alarms.
• Conduct Pulmonary Function Screen diagnostics and Fit Testing with Employee Health.
• Perform Pulse Oximetry, Adult/Pediatric/Neonatal EKG, and BLS life support.
• Manage Mechanical Ventilation and Ventilator Alarms.
• Perform Arterial Puncture and Blood Gas Laboratory analysis and quality control.
• Manage patient healthcare information systems and medication administration/dispensing programs.
• Verify physician’s orders for pulmonary and cardiology procedures.
• Record and report procedure results accurately.
• Maintain files and bookkeeping per department policy.
• Assist in departmental in-service programs and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education & Licensure

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New York
• New York State Respiratory Therapy Permit or License
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from NBRC

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Up to 3 years of total respiratory therapy experience
• Critical care experience
• NICU experience
• Experience with Epic healthcare information system

Certifications

• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association
