Registered Nurse - Oncology Surgical

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Under general supervision, provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Key responsibilities include:

Managing an assigned group of patients.
Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments.
Assisting physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
Monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary.
Administering medications and regulating intravenous infusions and blood products.
Delivering competent patient care.
Communicating care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
Informing patients and families about hospital procedures.
Referring patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Delegating tasks to support staff.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
Minimum 1 year of Surgical Oncology nursing experience, with experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Stepdown nursing experience
Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing experience
