Job Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery pediatric patients
- Administer and document prescribed medications
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
- Adjust specialized medical equipment and interpret measurements
- Monitor patient vitals and report adverse medication reactions promptly
- Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care
- Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records
- Follow best nursing practices, standards, and protocols
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York with Primary Source Verification
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in both Rehabilitation and Acute Care settings
- Pediatric nursing experience
- Med-Surg nursing experience
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Telemetry monitoring experience
