MRI Technologist I

Location: Edmond, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately)


Job Summary

This entry-level MRI Technologist position involves working under immediate to general supervision to develop competencies in cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. The role supports medical staff in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring a range of conditions in adult and pediatric patients.


Work Schedule

  • One tech: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • Second tech: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality, and efficient patient care in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, and outreach clinics.
  • Prepare patients for MRI procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve clinical and operational goals.
  • Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure documentation and technical quality meet protocols and accreditation standards.
  • Transfer images and data to archival systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
  • Perform quality control, cleaning, and high-level disinfection of equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain competencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Skill in cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology principles, medical imaging, terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and reliably report to work as scheduled.
  • Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
  • Accuracy in record-keeping and handling confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Ability to multi-task, remain calm under stress, and follow policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills with staff, patients, and families, demonstrating professionalism and compassion.
  • Initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology related to cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology.
  • Ability to apply core-level specialty theory and techniques to perform and document procedures with general supervision.

Experience & Licensure

  • Entry-level position; no specific years of prior experience required beyond basic competency development.
  • No prior travel experience required.
