MRI Technologist I
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 14 weeks (approximate)
Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Job Summary
Entry-level position working under immediate to general supervision to develop competencies in cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. Provides specialized imaging support to aid medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of a range of conditions in adult and/or pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, urgent care, and outreach clinics.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams to achieve clinical and operational goals.
- Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures within scope of practice.
- Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure documentation completeness and technical quality per protocols and accreditation standards.
- Transfer images and data to archival systems, enter technical findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting.
- Perform operator-level quality control, cleaning, and high-level disinfection of equipment following manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain competencies and improve care quality.
Required Qualifications
- Skill in cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology principles, medical imaging, terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and reliably report to work as scheduled.
- Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
- Accuracy in record-keeping and handling confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
- Ability to multi-task, remain calm under stress, and follow policies and procedures.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally and compassionately with staff, patients, and families.
- Initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology related to cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies.
- Ability to apply core specialty theory and techniques to perform, analyze, and document imaging studies with general supervision.
Experience
- Entry-level position; no specific years of prior specialty experience required.
- No prior travel experience required.
Licensure
- Must hold appropriate licensure or certification as required for MRI Technologist in the state of Oklahoma.
