Job Summary

The X-Ray Technician operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. Responsible for preparing patients for procedures, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with patients to understand service requirements and reduce anxieties.
• Prepare patients for procedures by positioning, adjusting equipment, and explaining processes.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
• Follow infection control policies and ensure a clean, safe working environment.
• Produce high-quality radiographs by adhering to established standards and procedures.
• Document patient care services in records and verify exam completion.
• Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Maintain inventory of radiology supplies and anticipate needs.
• Stay updated on professional knowledge through CME requirements, workshops, and publications.
• Complete yearly Age-Specific Competency and other assigned duties.

Required Qualifications

• New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T).
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
