Job Summary: The Pathologist's Assistant provides services in Anatomic Pathology under the supervision of a qualified Pathologist, assisting in the preparation and performance of human post-mortem and surgical specimen examinations.Essential Functions:  <ul><li>Prepare and perform human surgical specimen examinations, including gross description, dissection, and tissue section selection for microscopic examination (frozen, permanent, light, electron, and fluorescent microscopy).</li><li>Accession specimens and ensure proper identification per surgical pathology policies.</li><li>Prepare containers and tissue cassettes.</li><li>Assist in resident training and credentialing, providing technical guidance and assessing competency in specimen handling.</li><li>Perform gross photography of specimens and maintain related files.</li><li>Handle tumor procurement for biorepository, including documentation, quality assurance, and business transactions.</li><li>Contribute to quality assurance and control plans, focusing on specimen identification, frozen sections, and instrument maintenance.</li><li>Manage inventory and order supplies for the frozen section room and surgical pathology lab.</li><li>Select and dispose of gross tissue and extremities after report finalization.</li><li>Perform autopsies, including external examination, organ inspection, evisceration, dissection, tissue section submission, and data recording.</li><li>Assist with other related duties as needed.</li></ul> Required Qualifications:  <ul><li>Bachelor of Science Degree from a regionally accredited college/university.</li><li>Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologist's Assistant program or PA (ASCP) Certification.</li><li>Strong customer service skills, self-direction, flexibility, teamwork, initiative, and willingness to learn.</li><li>Effective interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to instruct others and embrace new learning experiences.</li></ul>  QUALIFICATION/LICENSURE Work Authorization : US Citizen Preferred years of experience : 2 years Travel required : No travel required Shift timings : Days
