Job Summary:
Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The role involves evaluating health status through ongoing data collection, performing health teaching and counseling, and providing therapy and treatment to support life and well-being. Additional duties include executing delegated medical functions, referring patients for further evaluation or treatment, reviewing and monitoring therapy plans, and documenting in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines. The RN promotes the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and adheres to service behavior standards. The role may require floating to other departments within the scope of competency and qualifications, as well as being on-call during scheduled shifts.
Required Qualifications:
• ASN - Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
• BLS - American Heart Association
• ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate for unit or service
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Certification as appropriate for unit or service
