Job Summary:
The CT Tech performs a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This position uses ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment to perform high-quality scans. Responsibilities include operating CT equipment, ensuring patient safety, adhering to radiation safety guidelines, and maintaining accurate records. The CT Tech also provides patient education, coordinates care, and stays updated with advancements in CT technology.

Required Qualifications:

• Understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency.
• Proficiency in operating CT equipment and understanding CT imaging techniques and protocols.
• Knowledge of protocols related to contrast administration, including contrast injector operation.
• Proficiency with electronic imaging, including viewing, transferring, and manipulating images.
• Ability to recognize emergent patient situations and respond appropriately.
• Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication and interaction with caregivers and patients.
• Task prioritization skills.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment for patients and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1) – Two (2) years of CT experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.

Required Education:

• Associate degree.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R).
• Licensure in the state of practice as applicable.

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

• Certified Computed Tomography Technologist - American Registry of Radiography Technologists ARRT (R)(CT).
• Fluoroscopy certification (for caregivers in Colorado).
