Required: One year of travel experience is preferred but will consider six months’ travel
Required: All Candidates are expected to Float as needed

We do STEMI, Shock, VAD, ECMO, and Structural Heart in our lab. We run with Phillips and are adding new Siemens imaging equipment in March.

Job Title: Interventional Technologist I

Job Summary: The Interventional Technologist I assists physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor, and treat simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases without surgery. This position is intended for those gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology or experienced imaging professionals who wish to begin a career in the discipline.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist providers in performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography, device implantation, biopsies, thrombectomy, embolization, and pain management.
- Utilize specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform diagnostic, interventional, and/or invasive procedures per established scope of practice guidelines.
- Ensure procedures are performed safely and with high-quality standards, maintaining a patient-centric focus.
- Prepare patients for procedures and provide comfort during the process.
- Act as a scrub tech while assisting providers during procedures.
- Maintain a strict sterile field and adhere to safety protocols.
- Respond to patient and family inquiries, providing clear information about diagnostic testing and result timelines.
- Collaborate with team members, including providers, to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Conduct post-testing quality reviews to ensure all required elements are completed and documented per departmental and accreditation standards.
- Transfer images and data to the appropriate electronic health system, enter technical data/findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting.
- Perform quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and equipment maintenance tasks per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist with quality assurance, audits, and performance improvement tasks as requested.
- Provide on-call clinical coverage outside regular duty hours, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, as assigned.
- Support academic partnerships by engaging in teaching radiologic program students.
- Serve as a departmental preceptor to mentor new or less experienced team members.
- Assist with onboarding new team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge and skill in applying principles of medical imaging, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
- Understanding of anatomy and physiology associated with specialty imaging procedures.
- Ability to apply theory, practices, and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze, and annotate study data or procedure documentation.
- Knowledge of sterile fields to ensure a safe environment for patients.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide care appropriate to the age and patient populations served.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines and standards.
- Ability to prioritize and complete clinical or non-clinical work assignments.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team and communicate effectively with others.
- Consistency and dependability in reporting to work as scheduled.
- Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes.
Required Education:
- Graduate of a post-secondary educational program in health science (e.g., cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, or paramedic/EMT) as defined by ARRT or CCI.
- Completion of a JRCERT-accredited Military Educational Program is accepted in lieu of other educational requirements.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association upon hire.
- ARRT(RT), RCES, or RCIS certification required within 18 months of hire.
