Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This includes planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patient needs. The RN identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Responsibilities include developing and coordinating individualized care plans, performing therapeutic nursing interventions, managing patient care, and documenting care based on standards of practice. The RN advocates for evidence-based practices and provides patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing models. This is an extremely busy, 52-bed medical-surgical unit where patients may occasionally be step-down patients. Patient assignments are typically 1:4 or 1:5.

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of prior RN experience in a Med Surg/Tele unit in a major acute care hospital setting
• Strong Med Surg/Tele background
• ASN degree
• NIHSS certification
• Telemetry certification
• BLS-AHA certification
• CEU Contact Stroke (4 Hours)
• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
• ACLS certification

Preferred Qualifications:
• BSN degree
• Soft skills: Great communication, teamwork, and compassion
