Job Summary: The MRI Technician is responsible for positioning patients, operating MRI equipment, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during imaging procedures. Duties include entering patient data, monitoring patients during scans, ensuring image quality, and maintaining safety protocols in the magnet room.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of Accredited Radiology Program
• NJ State RT License
• MR Certified
• BLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-3 years’ experience as an MRI Technician
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
• Ability to read and interpret documents
• Ability to work independently

Additional Information:

• Position patients on the examining table and place specified coils close to the area of interest, following Radiologist protocols
• Demonstrate the use of a microphone for patient-technologist communication during examinations
• Enter patient data and scan parameters into the computer
• Key commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers
• Monitor patients through the control room window and closed-circuit TV for safety and comfort
• View images on the video display screen to ensure quality
• Photograph images using the camera keyboard
• Alert staff entering the magnet room about the dangers of metal near the magnet
• Perform other duties as assigned
