Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for assembling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and storing procedure trays, surgical trays, and equipment. This role involves distributing medical equipment and supplies to meet the needs of the Operating Room, Nursing Units, Ancillary Departments, and Clinics. The technician operates and monitors sterilization equipment, disassembles carts following Universal Precautions, and ensures proper sterilization and packaging of medical instruments. Additional responsibilities include maintaining records, tracking instruments, responding to emergency situations, and providing on-the-job training to new associates. The position promotes the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and adheres to service behavior standards.

Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.
- Experience and understanding in the use of computers and relevant software for Sterile Processing.
- Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Regular attendance during scheduled business hours or shifts.
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinic operating room.

Additional Information:
- May be required to work overtime, float to other departments, or be placed on-call during scheduled shifts.
