Job Title: RN - Electrophysiology
Location: South Carolina
Job Summary:
The RN EP Lab is responsible for assisting with all procedures performed in the EP lab. This position requires competency in the use of EP monitoring/stimulation systems, intracardiac echo, and 3D mapping systems. The RN must demonstrate proficiency in sterile techniques and assist physicians with the implantation of Permanent Pacemakers, ICDs, and Bi-V-ICDs. A high degree of understanding of cardiac arrhythmias and invasive EP procedures is essential, along with the ability to operate and troubleshoot X-ray systems. The RN EP Lab also contributes to maintaining the lab by cleaning and restocking as needed. This role involves clear communication with cardiologists, electrophysiologists, patients, families, physician office staff, and internal team members.
Responsibilities include monitoring the performance of EP procedures, suggesting improvements, and ensuring quality standards are met. The RN must respond calmly and efficiently to emergency situations, respect patient confidentiality, and display professional behavior at all times. The role also involves educating patients to alleviate apprehension and fear regarding invasive procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina or a recognized NCSBN Compact State.
- American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card and ACLS certification (must be maintained).
- Graduate from an accredited school or college of nursing (BSN preferred or required within five years of hire).
- At least one year of work experience as a Registered Nurse.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in high acuity critical care, emergency department, or Cath Lab.
- RCIS or RCES credential.
Additional Information:
- Effective July 1, 2022, RN teammates transferring to a different service line/specialty must complete BSN within five years of transfer.
