Job Summary:
The Surgical Technologist I is an entry-level professional responsible for assisting the surgical team by anticipating their needs and ensuring quality patient care during operative procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of aseptic techniques, surgical technology principles, and the ability to maintain a sterile field. The incumbent will perform preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative duties while adhering to safety protocols and quality improvement practices.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.
• Possession and maintenance of a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card (or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong working knowledge of aseptic techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to ensure quality patient care during operative procedures.
• Understanding of legal, ethical, and moral responsibilities in surgical technology.

Additional Information:

• Active participation in all phases of the Time-Out Universal Protocol.
• Ability to assist in patient monitoring and provide reassurance during procedures.
• Experience in maintaining accurate records and assisting with patient transport.
