Location: Kern Medical Center, California

Job Summary: Under the supervision of a nurse leader, the RN-ER independently prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care for acutely ill patients. The role involves performing the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care. The RN-ER adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics, and California Nurse Practice Act. Responsibilities include creating a compassionate environment, collecting and interpreting patient data, developing individualized care plans, implementing medical and nursing orders, and ensuring quality care through adherence to therapeutic standards and evidence-based practices.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience.
- Valid and unrestricted State of California Registered Nurse License (RN License).
- NIHSS certification.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) card.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) card.
- Compliance with all health requirements designated by Kern Medical Center.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited registered nursing program with a bachelor’s or associate degree.
Additional Information:
- Knowledge of advanced nursing theory, techniques, and practices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, instruments, equipment, and the effects of medicines and narcotics.
- Depending on assignment, incumbents may be required to possess and maintain specific certificates of competency as a condition of employment.
