Job Summary:
The CT Tech performs a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This position requires ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment to perform high-quality scans. Responsibilities include operating CT equipment, ensuring proper patient identification, adhering to radiation safety guidelines, and providing patient education. The CT Tech is expected to stay updated with advancements in CT technology and assist in training students and other technologists.
Required Qualifications:
- Understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency.
- Proficiency in operating CT equipment and imaging techniques.
- Knowledge of protocols related to contrast administration.
- Proficiency with electronic imaging systems.
- Ability to recognize and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) – Two (2) years of CT experience.
- One (1) – Two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R).
- Licensure in the state of practice as applicable.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
- Certified Computed Tomography Technologist - American Registry of Radiography Technologists ARRT (R)(CT).
- Fluoroscopy certification for caregivers hired in the State of Colorado.
