Job Summary:
To ensure that Cardiology services rendered, including the evaluation and treatment of patients, are completed in a timely, accurate, and reliable manner. Services are provided to inpatients, outpatients, UHS staff, employees, and affiliated UHSH community groups as needed. Priority is given to services that directly affect patients and supervised staff.

Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• RDMS Certification from ARDMS or RCS from CCI
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree from an accredited school for Cardiac Ultrasonography
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) via the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) via the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

Additional Information:
• Performs cardiac ultrasound exams to evaluate cardiac structure and function, including 2D, M-mode, Doppler color, TEE, and stress echo
• Interprets exams for preliminary reports to identify critically abnormal findings and informs the physician
• Cleans and disinfects TEE probe following infection control standards
• Records and reports results of all procedures
• Responds to calls for "stat/emergency echos" outside regular hours
• Maintains accurate and appropriate records
• Abides by Service Delivery Standards
• Performs other duties as assigned
