Job Summary:
Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The RN evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data, performs health teaching and counseling, and provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being. Duties may include direct patient care or indirect care through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching. The RN executes delegated medical functions, refers patients for further evaluation or treatment, reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans, and documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines. Additional responsibilities include promoting the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, adhering to service behavior standards, and performing other duties as assigned. Floating to other departments and being placed on-call during scheduled shifts may be required based on business needs.
Required Qualifications:
• Two (2) years of experience.
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN).
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification.
• NIH certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
