Description
Job Title: MRI Tech
Location: Utah
Job Summary:
Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam. Performs MRI examinations per department protocol while demonstrating anatomical positioning competency and understanding cross-sectional anatomy. Coordinates with radiologists to select proper scanning techniques and protocols, administers intravenous contrast material under supervision, and adheres to MRI safety policies. Maintains quality imaging standards, completes required documentation, and ensures proper operation and troubleshooting of MRI equipment.
Required Qualifications:
• One year of experience in MRI
• Meets departmental IV certification competency within three months of hire
• Completes controlled substance module within six months of hire (where applicable)
• Completes initial moderate sedation module within six months of hire (where applicable)
• Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Seeing, Standing
Required Certifications & Licensure:
• ARRT registered technologist
• Current Utah State Licensure (for positions in Utah) to administer RX
• Basic life support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
• MR registered by ARRT
