Surgery Tech Job Summary Performs various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure. This position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and directly reports to Surgical Services management. The Surgery Tech will support system-wide and surgical operations initiatives and practices. Additionally, this role actively participates in the surgical operations safety plan as outlined. Required Qualifications <ul><li>Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program, or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six (6) months (not eligible for Tech in Surgery exam), or two (2) years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last three (3) years.</li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to maintain a sterile field and ensure environmental safety.</li><li>Knowledge of surgical services and sterile processing.</li><li>Experience in surgeries support within the surgical team.</li><li>Experience in life support situations related to surgical care.</li><li>Experience in sterile field management and sterilization processes.</li><li>Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Active National Certification as an ORT in Surgery or Certified Surgical Technologist.</li></ul>
