Job Title: SPD Instrument Processing Specialist - RST

Job Summary: This position is responsible for ensuring that all surgical instrument sets and equipment are properly maintained. Responsibilities include tracking lost and broken instrumentation, maintaining digital records of instrumentation in Instrument Tracking System software, and performing weekly missing instrument audit reports. The role requires adherence to established procedures, functioning as a team member to support department activities, and providing optimal instrument and equipment processing. Additionally, the position involves acting as a patient advocate and supporting the operating room team in the care of surgical patients.
Required Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED, or three (3) years of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting.
- Certified Central Service Technician certification.
- Instrument Specialist Certification (required or obtained within 6 months).
- Certified Instrumentation Specialist Certification.
- BLS certification (required by manager).
- CBSPD or CRCST certification (required by manager).
- Good computer knowledge, including PowerPoint and SPM.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with little or no supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technician or equivalent education/work experience.
- Successful completion of a vocational program for Central Service.
