Description
NICU NURSE LEADER
Must have at least 2 years previous RN - NICU experience for consideration
The Nurse Leader (NL) plays a key role in ensuring safe, high-quality, and compassionate patient care. This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing patient care activities through collaboration, critical thinking, and effective communication with all members of the healthcare team. The Nurse Leader serves as a role model and resource for clinical excellence, patient advocacy, and team development.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate optimal patient care by promoting collaboration among the interdisciplinary care team
- Independently plan and provide professional nursing care in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies
- Demonstrate critical thinking and sound judgment in prioritizing patient needs
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and colleagues to ensure continuity of care
- Promote a safe, positive, and professional work environment
- Support staff development through mentorship and delegation
Education & Licensure:
- Required: Valid Indiana RN license and current CPR certification
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Additional certifications may be required depending on department
Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in the specialty area required
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
