Job Opportunity: GI Lab Registered Nurse

Location: West Hollywood, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in GI Lab assisting with gastrointestinal procedures performed under general anesthesia, MAC, and moderate sedation.
• Procedures include EGD, colonoscopy, PEG placement, GI bleed management, EUS, ERCP, and specimen handling.
• Responsibilities include intra-operative assistance and maintaining knowledge of equipment and accessories.

Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Weekend shifts: Not required
• Floating: Required
• On-call: Not required
• No scheduling or time-off requests can be accommodated

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 3 years of GI Lab experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications required, issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Fire Card certification
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• Scrub experience
• Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
• Fit test for N95 or equivalent respirator within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 1 year; if history of positive, chest x-ray within 5 years plus annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer (measles, mumps, rubella)
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series, titer, or declination
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer (or proof of disease history)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (mandatory during flu season)
• Drug screening panel within 1 year (excluding marijuana/THC)
• Background check including 7-year criminal history, SSN trace, sex offender search, and others as specified

Onboarding and Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Professional references: 2 required, at least 1 supervisory
• Photo for badge must meet strict facility requirements (passport-style photo)
• Completion of facility-specific documents including:

  • Job description acknowledgment
  • Code of conduct and attendance policy attestation
  • Job hazard analysis and safe work practices acknowledgment
  • Social media policy acknowledgment
• Competency exams required by profession, including medication and EKG/dysrhythmia assessments (pass/fail)
• Must complete all required modules and timecards prior to start

Additional Notes

• Pending licenses are not accepted; license must be active at submission
• This position requires scrub experience and knowledge of pediatric endoscopy and PACU settings
• Floating to other units may be required
