Job Opportunity: Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
Location: Spokane, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (4x10 hours), 16:00 - 02:00
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Position floats between units as needed.
- Work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday evenings).
- No on-call or block schedules required.
- Expected patient ratio: 7.
- May be asked to float to a nearby hospital performing the same duties if overstaffed.
- Department: Adult and Pediatric Emergency Room.
- Experience preferred in hospital settings.
- Responsibilities include conducting crisis risk assessments for adults and pediatrics.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker license in Washington.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker experience within the last year.
- Experience working with adult patients.
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
- Experience in conducting crisis risk assessments.
Work Environment
- Facility type: Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
- Total staffed beds: 629.
- Teaching hospital.
- Charting system: Epic.
- Parking: No fee.
Scheduling and Floating
- Work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday evenings).
- Shift hours: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (16:00 to 02:00).
- Floating between units and possibly to a nearby hospital may be required.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules.
- Candidates working with an out-of-state compact license in Washington must complete demographic attestations as required.
- Fit mask testing required annually for travel candidates.
- Candidates may be required to complete Epic training modules within a week of orientation.
- Background checks include multiple components such as SSN trace, education verification, and national/state registries.
- Some certifications and requirements depend on the clinical track and unit assignment; verification will be done through credentialing systems.
This position is ideal for experienced LICSWs with emergency department experience who are comfortable working night shifts and floating between adult and pediatric units. The role requires strong crisis assessment skills and flexibility in scheduling and location.
