Job Opportunity: Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
Location: Spokane, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Position floats between units as needed.
- Work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
- No on-call or block schedules required.
- Expected patient ratio: 7.
- Department: Adult and Pediatric Emergency Room.
- May be asked to float to a nearby hospital performing the same duties if overstaffed.
- Hospital experience preferred.
- Experience conducting crisis risk assessments for adults and pediatrics required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker license in Washington
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
- Recent experience (within the last year) working as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience working with pediatric patients
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID and Social Security Card.
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start; updated monthly.
- Education verification required.
- State-specific searches including Washington State Patrol (WSP/WATCH) within 90 days of start.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP (within 10 years) or declination.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
- Fit mask testing required for travel candidates, updated annually.
- Photo for badge with neutral background required.
Work Environment
- Short Term Acute Care facility.
- Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
- Total staffed beds: 629.
- Teaching hospital.
- Charting system: Epic.
Additional Notes
- Floating policy acknowledgment required; may float to other nearby facilities.
- Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required.
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable.
- Skills checklist required annually for applicable units.
- References and work history verification required to meet credentialing standards.
This position is ideal for a licensed clinical social worker with emergency department experience who is comfortable working flexible shifts including every other weekend and floating between units.
