Job Description

• Position floats between units as needed.
• Work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday evenings).
• No on-call or block schedules required.
• Expected patient ratio: 7.
• Primary work setting: Adult and Pediatric Emergency Room.
• May be asked to float to a nearby hospital performing the same duties if overstaffed.
• Hospital type: Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center (Adult and Pediatric).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) license in Washington.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
• Recent experience (within the last year) working as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
• Experience working with adult patients.
• Experience working with pediatric patients.
• Experience conducting crisis risk assessments for adults.

Certifications (as applicable)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society (if applicable).
• Other certifications may be required based on unit or clinical track.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 verification).
• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually.
• E-Verify attestation required.
• Education verification required.
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
• Employment application covering at least the last 5 years.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titer.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
  • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
• Respirator medical clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates.
• Fit mask testing required for travel candidates, updated annually.
• Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS.
• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background).

Work Environment

• Electronic health record system: Epic.
• Parking: No fee.
• Hospital is a teaching facility with 629 staffed beds.

Additional Notes

• Floating policy acknowledgment required; may float to other nearby facilities.
