Job Opportunity: Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
Location: Spokane, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Position floats between units as needed.
- Work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
- No on-call or block schedules required.
- Expected patient ratio: 7.
- Department: Adult and Pediatric Emergency Room.
- May be asked to float to a nearby hospital performing the same duties if overstaffed.
- Hospital type: Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
- Charting system: Epic.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) license in Washington.
- Minimum of 1 year of LICSW experience.
- LICSW experience within the last year.
- Experience working with adult patients.
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
- Crisis risk assessment experience for adults.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (as applicable).
- Background Check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly.
- Education Verification (third-party verification required).
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
- Drug Screening: 9-panel within 12 months of start.
- Respiratory Safety Clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates.
- Fit Mask test required annually (travel only).
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
- Employment Application covering at least last 5 years.
- Skills Checklist updated annually (if applicable).
- Photo for badge with neutral background.
Additional Requirements
- Must complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS.
- Must comply with facility floating policy; may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
- WA State Patrol Search and other state-specific background checks as required by law.
- NURSYS license verification (for RNs; verify if applicable).
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable.
Work Environment
- Facility has 629 staffed beds.
- Teaching hospital environment.
- No parking fees.
Summary
This travel contract position for a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker involves working primarily in the adult and pediatric emergency departments with crisis risk assessment responsibilities. The role requires weekend work every other weekend, floating between units, and possibly to other nearby hospitals. Candidates must hold appropriate licensure and certifications, meet comprehensive background and health screening requirements, and complete required training modules annually. Hospital experience is preferred.
