Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Plainfield, New Jersey

Contract

13 weeks

Schedule

7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
8-hour shifts
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, plus two Wednesdays a month as needed
One Saturday a month
Holidays: not required
On-call: not required

Required Qualifications

Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in New Jersey
Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a hospital setting
ARRT or NMTCB
BLS issued by the American Heart Association
High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an approved school of nuclear medicine technology

Job Responsibilities

Perform nuclear medicine procedures, including organ imaging, function studies, and therapeutic radioisotope support
Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive tracer compounds
Operate nuclear medicine equipment and calibrate equipment as directed
Evaluate images for proper identification and diagnostic quality
Receive, inspect, store, and document radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive materials in compliance with state and federal requirements
Maintain radiation safety and contamination-free work conditions
Rotate assignments as needed, including Cardiology and PET/CT
Perform clerical duties related to patient scheduling and computer processing
Use PACS and other department systems for image review and workflow support
Start IVs
Provide patient communication and care appropriate to age, culture, language, and sensory needs
