CT Scan Technologist
Overview
- Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
- Specialty: CT scan technologist

- Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 4:00 PM–12:30 AM
- Schedule notes: Fridays and Saturdays off; holidays, weekends, overtime, and on-call assignments may be required
Role Summary
- Performs CT procedures and related techniques to produce sectional and 3D images for interpretation
- Assists with interventional and therapeutic procedures
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in New Jersey
- CT Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of CT Technologist experience
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program or high school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and radiological positioning of the human body
- Understanding of CT software and hardware
- Thorough knowledge of PACS
- Maintains CEU credits
- ARRT Certified R.T. (R) license
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Must obtain ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire
- Must obtain BLS certification within 3 months of hire
Preferred Experience
- Six months of CT experience
Key Responsibilities
- Review patient history and contrast questionnaires, and document information in PACS and EPIC
- Administer or identify contrast media as prescribed
- Verify exam appropriateness and clarify prescriptions when needed
- Obtain outside studies and schedule them so images and reports are available for comparison
- Provide exam copies to patients, requesting physicians, and/or family members
- Evaluate radiographs in PACS for proper identification and diagnostic quality
- Prepare patients for scanning, including shielding and immobilization
- Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and IV maintenance procedures
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during the procedure
- Lift at least 25 lbs, push and pull at least 50 lbs, and stand at least 6 hours per day
