CT Scan Technologist
Job Overview
- Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
- Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Contract length: 15 weeks
- Hours: 40 per week
Responsibilities
- Perform CT procedures and produce sectional and 3D images for interpretation.
- Review patient history and prescription details to help ensure the exam is appropriate.
- Prepare and screen contrast questionnaires and document information in PACS.
- Administer contrast media as prescribed.
- Verify insurance authorization and coordinate exam modifications when needed.
- Obtain outside studies and schedule them so they are available for comparison.
- Provide exam copies to patients, requesting physicians, and/or family members.
- Evaluate radiographs in PACS for proper identification and diagnostic value.
- Prepare patients for scanning, including shielding and immobilization as needed.
- Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during the procedure.
- Work scheduled shifts, including holidays, weekends, overtime, and on-call assignments as needed.
- Meet lifting and standing demands of the role.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from a Radiologic Technologist program.
- Valid CT Technologist license in New Jersey.
- CT Technologist (1 year of experience).
- CT Technologist experience within the last year.
- New Jersey DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.
- ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and radiological positioning of the human body.
- Understanding of CT software and hardware.
- Thorough knowledge of PACS.
- Maintain continuing education unit credits.
- Must obtain ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire.
- Must obtain American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months of CT experience.
- ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license.
