RN - Emergency Dept

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- 1 year of Emergency Department experience
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- CPI
- TNCC or ENPC
- Trauma experience
Preferred Experience
- Trauma experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma center
- 2+ years of experience in a high-volume emergency department
Key Clinical Skills
- Strong clinical and rapid patient assessment skills
- Ability to recognize changes in condition
- Critical thinking
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Unit Overview
- Emergency department with 48 headwalls and approximately 25 additional treatment spaces
- Acuity-based patient ratios
- Common care includes moderate sedation, RSI, CPR, PIV/IO, splinting, EKG, blood transfusion, TNK administration, cardiac monitoring, stroke assessment, trauma assessment, resuscitation, and sepsis workups
Work Environment
- Team-based unit with day and night shift roles including charge nurse, flow navigator, RN, paramedic, ED tech, and unit clerk
- Navy scrubs required
- No food or drink in patient care areas
- No personal bags in patient care areas
- Shift starts 15 minutes before shift time
- Lunch requires clocking out/in for 30-34 minutes
