CT Scan Technologist

Overview

Specialty: CT Scan Technologist
Location: North Bergen, New Jersey
Employment type: Clinical-Allied
Contract length: 12 weeks
Shift: Nights, Monday–Thursday, 9:00 PM–7:30 AM
Hours per week: 40
Holiday requirement: Yes
Weekend requirement: Yes
On-call: Not required
Float: Not required

Role Summary

Performs CT procedures and related techniques to produce sectional and 3D images, and assists with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Required Qualifications

Valid CT Technologist license in New Jersey
1 year of CT Technologist experience
CT Technologist experience within the last year
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a radiologic technologist program

Preferred Qualifications

2 years of CT experience
6 months of CT experience
ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license
Knowledge of Epic and any HIS/RIS system added by the hospital

Key Responsibilities

Perform complex CT procedures
Review and document patient clinical history and contrast questionnaire
Administer contrast media as prescribed
Verify exam appropriateness and clarify prescriptions when needed
Obtain outside studies and schedule them so they are available for comparison
Evaluate radiographs in PACS for proper identification and diagnostic value
Prepare patients for scanning and provide explanations and instructions
Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures
Monitor patients for adverse reactions during the procedure
Work scheduled shifts, overtime as needed, and on-call assignments as needed
