Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health / Psychiatric Nursing

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in Behavioral Health and Psychiatric Nursing for a 13-week travel assignment in Massachusetts.

Specialty: Behavioral Health / Psychiatric Nursing

Patient Population: Adult and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry

Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule: 40 Hours per Week

Shift: Evening Shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)

Every Other Weekend Required

Every Other Holiday Required

Charge Nurse Responsibilities RequiredMinimum Requirements

Active Massachusetts RN License at the time of submission

Minimum 5 years of recent Behavioral Health/Psychiatric RN experience in the same specialty

Adult and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric experience required

Current CPR/BLS Certification

Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques preferred

Ability to float to similar or lower-acuity units as needed

Must be comfortable taking Charge Nurse responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect nursing care to behavioral health patients

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and ongoing patient evaluations

Develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plans

Maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment

Administer medications and monitor patient responses

Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams

Support patients experiencing psychiatric and substance use disorders

Utilize trauma-informed care principles in daily practice

Respond effectively to crisis situations and behavioral emergencies

Complete accurate and timely electronic documentation

Participate in admissions, discharges, and patient education
