Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

Provides supervision of nursing, technical and/or support staff and coordinates daily operations, 24 hours a day. In collaboration with the Nurse Manager and other department coordinators, implements departmental and hospital policies and procedures, maintains standards of care and nursing practice, and monitors and improves the quality of nursing services.

Education/Experience 

Minimum Required: 

• A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing 

• Bachelors in Nursing 

• Two (2) years of clinical nursing experience 

Preferred: 

• Previous leadership experience 

 
License/Certification 

Minimum Required: 

• Current New York State Registered Nurse License 

• CPR within 3 months of hire 

• Completion of professional certification in the relevant specialty practice within 3 years. 

Preferred: 

• Current professional certification in the relevant specialty 

Work Environment 

• Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated. 

• Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting. 

• Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions. 

• Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants. 

• PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies.
