Position Overview

This position involves dual modalities as a CT Tech and X-Ray Tech. Candidates are expected to maintain and exhibit behavior that promotes patient confidence and trust while working independently and unsupervised.

Responsibilities

CT Tech Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of CAT Scan Imaging Exams.
• Utilize pediatric immobilization devices adhering to safety precautions.
• Produce computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas as directed.
• Prepare or enter necessary written documentation (e.g., informed patient consent, patient chart documentation).
• Observe sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary.
• Regularly check equipment, supplies, and accessories.
• Address the physical needs of adult and geriatric patients.
• Recognize and soothe patients' fears and apprehensions about exams.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas.
• Complete examinations timely, observing radiation safety standards.
• Accommodate special needs of patients, including those with hearing impairments or physical challenges.
• Follow bio-safety and radiation safety rules and regulations.
• Operate related duties in PACS.
• Adhere to established hospital/department policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety.

Radiology Tech Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate proficiency in diagnostic and fluoroscopic examinations and equipment.
• Use pediatric immobilization devices adhering to safety precautions.
• Prepare or enter required documentation for patient records.
• Perform portable and operating room examinations professionally and timely, observing sterile techniques.
• Assess the physical needs of adult and geriatric patients.
• Recognize and soothe patients' fears and apprehensions about exams.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas.
• Perform examinations timely, observing radiation safety standards.
• Accommodate special needs of patients, including those with hearing impairments or physical challenges.
• Follow bio-safety and radiation safety rules and regulations.
• Operate related duties in PACS.
• Adhere to established hospital/department policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
• Graduate of a program in Radiologic Technology.
• NYSDOH License Required.
• ARRT Certification Required.

Skills and Traits

• Must be computer literate.
• Capable of working independently and unsupervised.
• Ability to prevent Sentinel Events.
