CT/Rad Tech position
Requirements:
- ARRT Certification
- NYS License
- Minimum 1-year experience as a CT Tech with solid Rad Tech/X-Ray experience or C-Arm experience
Complete Description:
Performs technical radiographic assignments with complex skills, judgment, and knowledge of the principles and methods of CT and Radiologic Technology. Conducts diagnostic radiographic studies as needed and operates portable diagnostic radiographic equipment where required. Follows Infection Control according to Universal Precautions. Must have the capability to provide care to infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
Job Duties:
- Operates radiographic, CT, image processors, and other related equipment accurately across different modalities.
- Evaluates images for quality and ensures accurate positioning based on procedure guidelines.
- Provides clear and concise instructions during procedures to calm and relieve stress for patients.
- Maintains competency in two specific modalities.
- Ensures proper radiation protection for self, patients, and other personnel by using proper collimation, lead shielding, and techniques when applicable.
- Demonstrates flexibility in assuming emergency calls on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrates competency in RIS and PACS, utilizing systems to enter and edit patient exams and charges, record appropriate data, and scan documents.
- Responsible for performing radiographic and CT studies with and without IV contrast enhancement, including brain, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, spine, facial, extremities. Follows NYSDOH Part 16 guidelines and performs required QC activities.
Occupational Exposure:
Tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues, with reasonably anticipated exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
Skills Required:
- NYS Licensure, BLS & ARRT Certifications – 1 year required experience
- OR C-Arm Experience – 1 year required experience
