Position Overview

The Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) in the Cardiac Cath/EP Lab is a certified technician assisting with invasive cardiac procedures. The role involves preparing the procedure room and sterile field for surgical procedures, including the setup of sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment. Technologists anticipate equipment needs, operate equipment, and maintain sterile instruments. They must be able to function in multiple roles, including scrub, circulator, and documenter/monitor. Strong organizational skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures.
• Anticipate and manage equipment needs during procedures.
• Operate and maintain sterile medical instruments.
• Function in various roles including scrub, circulator, and documenter/monitor.

Experience and Skills Required

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Cath Lab Tech.
• Must have experience in Right Heart and Left Heart Hemodynamics, Cardiac Interventions, CTO, PCI, Pericardiocentesis, Vascular Interventions, RotoPro, LVADs, AngioVac, FlowTriever.
• Mechanical Circulatory Support Experience: ECMO, Impella, IABP, ProtekDuo.
• Structural Heart experience: TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman, CardioMEMS, PFO, ASD, VSD, Valvuloplasty.
• Critical care or cardiac experience is required.

Certifications

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI or ARRT (ARRT preferred)
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS

Additional Requirements

• COVID vaccine card showing a fully completed COVID series.
• Must either be a Radiologic Technologist (RCIS) or meet the NYS requirements to be grandfathered into Public Health Law 2824.

This role involves primarily day shifts with some late night (evenings) and on-call requirements based on unit needs.
