Description

Short Description:
Monday through Friday, varying shifts of either 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. No weekends, no call, no holidays.

Complete Description:
- Review patient history and physician's orders. - Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. - Position patients and perform imaging procedures, ensuring the use of proper imaging techniques. - Review patient information to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific to age-related needs. - Perform nuclear medicine imaging and therapy following applicable scope and standards of practice. - Analyze results and address quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures. - Enter, transmit, and report scan results. - Order, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols. - Monitor patient conditions continually and respond to changes in status as needed. - Maintain an appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms.

Job Requirements:
- CT certified with PET/CT experience
- ARRT CT
- NNMTCB CT
- Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- NYS License
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- 2 years of experience

Equipment:
Preferred knowledge in GE PET or Philips PET Scanners (not a requirement)

Behavior Characteristics:
- 2 years as a Nuclear Tech
- NYS License
- ARRT Certification with Continuing Education credits
- BLS Certification
- CT experience
