The population of Trauma/Surgical ICU patients ranges from single to multi-system injuries, acute exacerbation of chronic health problems, and acute illness. Because of this, you should be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to caring for a variety of patients. Our medical team is highly trained and credentialed in a multitude of procedures. Likewise, our nurses are highly competent and skilled to manage any Trauma/Surgical patient.
As a nurse in this unit, you should have the desire to be a patient and family advocate, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and have the desire to work closely with other disciplines.
Qualifications: Education• Graduate of approved nursing program required• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred Experience• Consistent demonstration of Novice / Advance Beginner clinical nursing practice proficiency required Licenses and Certifications• RN - Current State of California Registered Nurse license required• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required Additional Certification Requirements: Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire or transfer into job.
