Requirements
- Active RN license (state of Tennessee or compact where applicable)
- ACLS required; BLS required
- Prior cardiac critical care experience (CCU/Cardiac ICU)
- Strong critical care skills including hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive titration
- Experience with PA catheter management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience with mechanical circulatory support devices (IABP, Impella) preferred
- CRRT experience preferred
- Competence with central line and Swan-Ganz management and intubation/ventilator care
- Ability to work on a 4-week schedule including 3–4 weekend shifts per scheduling period and float to other units as needed
- Documentation experience with Meditech preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for critically ill cardiac patients, including management of cardiogenic shock and patients on mechanical circulatory support
- Monitor and interpret invasive hemodynamics, titrate vasoactive medications, and manage PA catheter data
- Operate and troubleshoot IABP/Impella devices and participate in care for patients receiving CRRT
- Perform and assist with procedures commonly used in the unit (central line care, Swan-Ganz management, intubation/airway support)
- Chart patient care and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record (Meditech)
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support a high-acuity cardiogenic shock program and maintain unit standards and safety protocols
- Adhere to unit scheduling, floating policies, and required certification maintenance

Job Description
This travel RN assignment is for a 12-week cardiac critical care contract in Nashville, TN (May 7–August 6, 2026). The role is a day shift (07:00–19:00) in a 32-bed CCU with a typical 2:1 patient ratio. The unit manages high-acuity cardiac patients, including a growing cardiogenic shock service and patients supported with IABP, Impella, PA catheters, and CRRT. Candidates must have solid cardiac ICU experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and strong critical care skills. The position requires working 3–4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule, flexibility to float as needed, and documentation using Meditech.
