Join BJC HealthCare's Nursing Resources Float Pool, supporting Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Progress West Hospital. This opportunity is designed for experienced nurses who enjoy a fast-paced environment, professional flexibility, and the chance to build expertise across multiple care settings.
As a float pool nurse, you'll provide care where your skills are needed most, with assignments that may include ICU, Emergency Department, Medical-Surgical Telemetry, and Telemetry units. You'll partner with multidisciplinary teams, care for diverse patient populations, and gain experience that enhances both clinical confidence and career growth. Nurses without ICU or ED experience may be considered for telemetry-focused assignments.
Highlights
- Full-time Nights | 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every third weekend and rotating holiday commitment
- Float between Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West

Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of acute care nursing experience
- ICU and/or Emergency Department experience preferred
- Telemetry experience
- Peripheral IV insertion competency
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- ADN, BSN, and MSN-prepared nurses encouraged to apply
- Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a variety of patient care environments

Overview
Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital proudly serves the health care needs of families in St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties. The 102-bed community hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, the Breast Health and Women’s Center, the Cardiology Center, the Neurosurgery Center and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center.
Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and carries a Level II stroke certification. Additionally, the hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, dermatology, surgery and pulmonology. Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital also offers outpatient services including physical therapy, a sleep lab, and cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation.
At Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, every decision is made in the best interest of patients and families. The Nursing Resource team takes exceptional care of people by coordinating patient placement and bed management in collaboration with departments, admitting, and physicians.
