Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat patients with communication, speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. The SLP will develop individualized treatment plans and collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to help patients improve communication and functional independence.

Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
Provide therapeutic interventions for speech, language, voice, cognition, and communication disorders.
Evaluate and treat swallowing and feeding disorders as appropriate.
Perform or assist with clinical swallowing assessments and recommend appropriate precautions or modifications.
Provide patient and caregiver education regarding treatment strategies and home programs.
Monitor patient progress and modify treatment approaches as appropriate.
Recommend and train patients in the use of appropriate augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices when indicated.
Document evaluations, treatments, progress, and discharge recommendations accurately.
Communicate patient status and recommendations to physicians, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning.
Follow facility policies, infection-control procedures, and patient-safety standards.

Travel SLP assignments may involve patients with:

Stroke and neurological disorders
Traumatic brain injuries
Dysphagia/swallowing disorders
Aphasia
Dysarthria
Cognitive-communication disorders
Voice disorders
Developmental speech and language disorders
Pediatric feeding and communication disorders
Requirements
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or appropriate state-required credential.
Active state SLP license in the state of assignment.
Current BLS certification may be required for hospital-based assignments.
Recent clinical experience in the applicable setting.
Strong assessment, treatment-planning, and clinical documentation skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.
