Join our team as a Step Down Registered Nurse in Huntington, WV! We are seeking dedicated RNs for a 14-week contract in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Step Down. Our facility is known for its commitment to high-quality patient care and a supportive work environment.

The Step Down unit is a 20-bed area featuring all private rooms, where we strive for a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, though this may vary based on staffing needs. Our patient population includes a diverse mix of pulmonary (pneumonia, COPD, BiPAP/CPAP), cardiac (a-fib, heart failure), neuro (stroke), GI (bleed), and surgical patients who are stable but at a higher risk of becoming unstable.

Our unit is equipped to accommodate 20 step-down patients, while also accepting those who do not require invasive monitoring. Depending on bed availability, you may care for adult med-surg, telemetry, and step-down patients concurrently.

As a Step Down RN, you will administer critical drips such as Amiodarone, Esmolol, Insulin, Lasix, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin. To qualify, you must possess BLS and ACLS certifications, along with a minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
