• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Schedule: Weekends as scheduled; every other weekend required
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040 - $2,150
• Charting System: Cerner
• Unit Size: 30 beds
• Typical Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:6 depending on acuity

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of Stepdown, PCU, or progressive care nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation skills
• Experience titrating cardiac drips and managing high-acuity patients
• Comfort working in a fast-paced acute care stepdown environment
• Ability to float to other inpatient units as needed
• Must be able to work scheduled day shifts and follow unit dress code requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to cardiac and medical stepdown patients
• Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to rhythm changes and patient status updates
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips, including cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, and angiomax
• Assess patients, perform nursing interventions, and communicate changes to the care team
• Support patients recovering from cardiac events, post-cath lab procedures, pneumonia, seizures, and CIWA-related needs
• Collaborate with charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and support staff to promote excellent patient care
• Assist with ADLs, vitals, bathing, toileting, feeding, repositioning, call lights, and blood sugar checks as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and use strong clinical judgment to prioritize care in a busy stepdown unit
