Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Thornton, CO. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility with a focus on teamwork and collaboration. Our PCU is designed to provide exceptional care for patients recovering from surgery and other procedures.
Unit Information:
- Number of Beds: 24
- Patient Ratios: 5:1
- Type of Equipment: Tele monitoring, post-op monitoring
- EMR: Meditech / CPN
General Information:
This unit features a day shift team consisting of a charge nurse, 4-5 RNs, and 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs). The night shift is similarly staffed, ensuring comprehensive care throughout all hours. The PCU specializes in post-op recovery for a diverse patient population, including elective orthopedic, spine, GYN surgeries, and various cardiac procedures.
Typical Procedures Performed:
- Post-op recovery of patients (surgical and from cath lab)
- Post-op orthopedic patients (spine, joint)
Skill Set:
Most recruited for:
- Minimum 1-year current hospital PCU experience
- BLS, ACLS & NIH certification required
Preferred or Nice to Have:
- Cardiac experience
- Prior Meditech experience

Unit Guidelines/Policies:
Our unit boasts a brand-new state-of-the-art design, featuring ADA/Bari rooms and Hoyer lifts to enhance patient care. We pride ourselves on a great unit culture with excellent teamwork and collaboration among staff, who have a wide range of nursing experience. Our modified self-scheduling process allows for schedules to be posted three weeks in advance, providing ample time for trades and personal planning.
